Treviso is a pleasant city with a population of about 80,000, located about 20 minutes from Mestre train station. Its lovely historic center, not far from the train station (5-10 minutes' walk) is surrounded by old walls and crisscrossed by charming canals. The beating heart of the city is definitely Piazza dei Signori, also considered the city's living room, where impressive historic buildings frame the terraces of the bars that are always packed with people.
Dominating the square above all is the historic town hall building, the Palazzo del Trecento. But people come to Treviso simply to wander the streets of the center and to take advantage of the presence of numerous bars, restaurants, and clubs that offer good local cuisine and good local wines, such as Prosecco.
